The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) is set to start the operations of the new Al Khor Health Centre Sunday. The facility will be exclusively for Qatari citizens, local Arabic daily 'Arrayah' reported. Quoting sources, 'Arrayah' explained that expatriates registered at the old Al Khor Health Centre will be transferred to other neighbouring centres such as Al Ruwais, Al Daayen, Al Ghuwayriyah, and Al Kaaban.

However, there will be a number of categories of expatriates, with valid health cards, who will receive care at the new facility. These include those above 70, persons with disability, household helpers working for Qataris, sons and daughters of Qatari women, non-Qatari wives of Qatari men, and the GCC citizens, the daily said.
The sources pointed out that the centre will offer general medicine services, in addition to more than 40 specialised clinics that cover family medicine, paediatrics, women's health, chronic diseases, dental, ear, nose and throat and other specialties. The health centre occupies a space of 25,000sqm that includes a main building of two floors with a laboratory, pharmacy, gymnasium, swimming pool and other features. There are also a mosque, supporting services building, and parking for the ambulances. There is also parking space for 297 vehicles.
The sources noted that the construction works of the centre started in 2018 and were carried out according to the highest local and international standards and specifications.
