A mixed volleyball and ladies throwball tournament was held by Tulukoota Qatar, affiliated to the Indian Cultural Centre under the aegis of the Indian embassy.
An exciting show was put up by the talented teams that thrilled the audience with some nail-biting moments, the organisers said in a statement.
The two-day tournament featured participants of multiple nationalities and players from different states of India.
Tulukoota Qatar won both the winners and runners-up trophies in throwball. In mixed volleyball, team Tamil Nadu lifted the championship trophy while team VoliQ were the runners-up.
In the throwball championship, individuals who bagged the special titles were Kavitha Mahendran (Safe Hands) - from Star Sports Throwball Rockers; Muriel Merlyn (Best Smasher) from Tulukoota Qatar; and Indira Ravi Kunder (Star Player of the Tournament) from Tulukoota Qatar. In the volleyball championship, Ajith was adjudged Best Passer from Team Tamil Nadu, while the Best Smasher was Mohamed from VoliQ. The men's Star Player of the Tournament was Hakeem from Team Tamil Nadu, and the ladies' Star Player of the Tournament was Emma from Top Notch.
A sub-edition of the souvenir, 'Nirel', was released in the presence of dignitaries and guests. The chief guest for the evening was Reem al-Khater, a sports enthusiast and a noted horse rider.
Tulukoota Qatar president Chaitali Uday Shetty acknowledged the sponsors and thanked them for their support, while also expressing her gratitude towards all the players, volunteers and family members who made the event a success.
