Qatar, represented by the Police Band, took part in the opening of the International Military Music Festival in the Russian capital Moscow with a wide international participation. Qatar’s delegation is led by Adviser to HE the Minister of Interior Major General Abdullah Yousef al-Mal, and consists of a number of directors of departments, as well as members of the Police Band. During the opening, Qatar Police Band, which includes 61 musicians, 18 of the silent team and three for carrying and guarding the flag, presented a number of military musical performances, a silent weapon show accompanying musical performance, and other distinguished performances that won the audience’s admiration. The band plays various musical instruments and has a great legacy of musical pieces that document the work of the police across different eras. The band’s tunes are derived from the old Qatari heritage and the innovations of contemporary art. This is the Police Band’s first participation in the festival which is being held on Red Square in Moscow. The Qatar Armed Forced is participating in the 14th Military Music Festival, which is set to take place in Moscow until September 5. This is the Qatari Armed Forces’ first participation in the event that takes place annually at the Spasskaya Tower on Red Square. Over 12 years, the conference has hosted 160 groups from 54 countries.
