Commercial Bank has received the 'Best Social Media Engagement Award' in the Middle East from The Asian Banker. To celebrate the achievements of top performing institutions, the Middle East and Africa Regional Awards Ceremony was held virtually on August 25.
During the awarding ceremony, Commercial Bank executives, along with other senior industry officials from across the region, had the chance to share their insights and views on the current themes that are reshaping the financial services industry.
According to the Asian Banker, participating banks in The Asian Banker Middle East and Africa Regional Awards were assessed based on criteria and scorecards. This year, the Asian Banker has redefined categories as a reflection of the rapid transformation the financial industry is experiencing.
The programme is now further complemented by BankQuality.com, a premier rating site by The Asian Banker, where customers can rate and comment on their banking experiences.
They also launched a series of online surveys across the region to gather feedback from customers on their engagement, experience and satisfaction with their main retail banks.
Commenting on the win, Commercial Bank’s GCEO, Joseph Abraham, said, “Enhancing customer communication is part of our strategic focus on providing the best client experience and we are pleased to receive this award in recognition of our social media engagement.”

Commercial Bank’s social media strategic presence and its pioneering role in Digital Banking innovation has led to the Bank being recognised in 2021 as the “Best Bank in Qatar” award by both Global Finance and Euromoney as well as the “Most Innovative Customer Service Bank” award in Qatar by International Finance.
Adding this new award to Commercial Bank’s recent accolades, the Bank continues to grow its unique presence on social media and expand its innovative efforts in communications and marketing too.
