Usha Chouksey (64), a longtime resident of Qatar and a prominent social worker passed away in India yesterday.

Chouksey was battling certain lung ailments for some time. She left Qatar in 2015, after staying in the country for more than 35 years and is survived by her husband and two sons.

Chouksey was a member of several organisations in Qatar such as Indian Women’s Association, Indian Cultural Centre, Indian Community Benevolent Forum and the Maharashtra Mandal among others. She was the president of Maharashtra Mandal from 2003-2004.

During her association with ICBF, she was the head of medical assistance and successfully conducted several medical camps. She was a recipient of an ICBF appreciation award and was also an ardent supporter of organ donation, as she pledged to donate all her organs.
