Following all social distancing norms, DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) recently celebrated the 7th International Yoga Day online.

Athree-day-long yoga training programme was also organised for the school teachers.

The celebration and training, conducted through Zoom, was in tune with this year’s theme ‘Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family.’

It educated students and parents on the benefits of yoga in enhancing not only the physical health but also the mental wellbeing during the pandemic.

Students of nursery and preparatory classes were invited for the online celebration. Students of Grade-IX also participated in the event.

A few postures, suggested in the common yoga protocol by the government of India, were demonstrated by the physical education teachers.

The attendees, following the instructions, performed the asanas. A PowerPoint presentation highlighting the importance of yoga was shown to educate the people on the role of yoga in maintaining a perfect equilibrium between body and mind.

A total of six sessions were conducted and around 900 students and 30 teachers participated. The presentation is also uploaded on our school’s official website, imparting knowledge to approximately 10,600 parents, students and 500 staff of the school.
