The Organizing Committee of the AFC Asian Champions League East Zone, which is currently being held in Doha, affirmed that the Asian competitions require good preparation, pointing out that Qatar has once again provided the 'best conditions' to ensure the success of the championship.

Director of the Competitions Department at the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Abdullah Al Saai said that "following the announcement that Qatar would host the East Zone matches, there was a timeline to provide everything that would contribute to the success of the championship." He added that the presence of this large number of teams meant that the LOC had to keep ready four stadiums with state-of-the-art cooling technology and the final selection of the four venues was made in coordination with the AFC.

Al Saai spoke, in an interview published on QFA website, about the presence of young Qatari personnel in the Committee, adding that there is a young official in each of the four stadiums and there young officials with stadium officials, as well as experienced personnel whose mission is prepare everything related to matches through early attendance and field follow-up. He added, "such events undoubtedly refine and develop young people, and also, it helps us gain experience. The young cadres we see have the capacity to organize such matches, and some of them have diplomas in their respective fields."

Regarding coordination with the AFC, Al Saai said he met with the AFC delegation before the tournament began and meetings are held daily during the competition.

When asked about the benefits of AFC Champions League, West Zone matches, Al Saai said Qatar LOC members gained a lot, adding "what we did during the AFC Champions League, West Zone matches was the subject of admiration and respect from those visiting the country in September and October." He also said, "We had great teamwork, and we managed all tasks well. We benefited a lot from working in most trying circumstances. That event gave us the confidence that we could do work in any situation."

He stated that the Committee proved its ability to adapt to all circumstances, which is a good rehearsal for upcoming events, especially since Qatar is forerunner in launching competitions during (Covid-19) pandemic.

He pointed out that dealing with the current crisis requires implementing the approved medical protocols when it comes to teams, referees, administrators and LOC members to preserve the safety of everyone and ensure the success of the tournament in all aspects, which is what the Committee is used to through hosting and organizing many international events, tournaments and international matches.
