Qatar Development Bank (QDB), in co-operation with the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA), launched the 5th edition of "KHOTWA" programme, which aims to build the capacities of retirees in the field of entrepreneurship and convert their ideas into successful projects.
The programme aims to train and develop retirees and teach them basic entrepreneurial skills, through a package of training programmes and advisory services to enter the world of entrepreneurship, to create and manage a successful and sustainable business.
In a statement on this occasion, the Executive Director of Advisory and Incubation at QDB Ibrahim Abdulaziz al-Mannai, stressed that the programme is a unique opportunity to benefit from the experiences of retirees to enrich the business environment in Qatar.
Al-Mannai added that QDB believes in providing opportunities for everyone to participate in building a diversified business climate in the country, and the launch of "KHOTWA" programme is part of QDB endeavours to support all entrepreneurs, in addition to making use of the experiences of retirees and harnessing them in projects that make difference.
For his part, the Director of Public Relations and Communications at GRSIA Mohammed Abdullah al-Malki, praised the partnership and co-operation with Qatar Development Bank to launch the 5th edition of this initiative, considering that it seeks to provide the necessary training and qualification to enable retirees to become entrepreneurs.
"KHOTWA" programme, which was launched in its first edition in 2014, is a community initiative aimed at building and developing the capabilities and skills of retirees and encouraging them to establish their small and medium businesses and projects, and converting their ideas into successful projects, as the number of beneficiaries reached nearly 150 retirees in the total of previous editions.
The programme will be held from November 1 until November 12, and from 10.30 in the morning until 12.30 in the afternoon, through video conference technology.
