The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has explained the procedures for obtaining approval for holding exhibitions, conferences and cultural and sports events. The MoPH published an announcement in this regard through its social media channels and website yesterday.
In addition to following the precautionary measures stipulated by the MoPH, organisers are requested to seek approval from the ministry to hold any such event by submitting an application form with details such as information on the venue and participants, the announcement states.
This approval is in addition to any other necessary approvals required from other authorities. As part of the application, organisers are also requested to sign a declaration confirming their commitment to adhere to the precautionary measures published by the MoPH. As part of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions in Qatar, international sports events and competitions, as well as international conferences, exhibition and cultural events, were allowed to resume from October 1 subject to adherence to the strict precautionary measures published by the MoPH.
This followed the resumption of local events, which was announced as part of the launch of Phase 4 of the gradual lifting of restrictions on September 1.
