The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced Monday that 109 people were infected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 665.

At a daily briefing, official spokesperson of the Ministry Dr. Abdullah Al Sanad said eight of the cases were travellers, including five Kuwaiti citizens who returned home from the United Kingdom, a single national who came back from Spain, a male Kuwaiti who flew back from the US and a female citizen who returned from Spain, as part of the state repatriates' evacuation operation, according to Kuwait News Agency.

Dr. Al Sanad said there were 20 patients at intensive care wards, including seven in critical condition, thus the whole number of cases that continued to receive medical care at public hospitals stood at 561.

Earlier today, Kuwaiti Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah announced the recovery of four patients from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), raising the country's total recoveries to 104.

Speaking to Kuwait News Agency KUNA, the minister said lab tests and analyses had shown the recovery of the patients, five Kuwaitis and one resident.

The already treated case will be admitted to a rehabilitation ward before being discharged from hospital, the minister added.
