Earlier in the day, the MoI issued a series of posts on social media reminding people that "staying away from all forms of gathering, including social events, in these circumstances supports the efforts of the relevant authorities" to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Qatar.
"Community security in general, and health security in particular, are a shared responsibility. It requires your strict compliance with decisions and precautionary measures to protect society," the ministry stressed.
The decision to ban gatherings in parks and on beaches will provide a safe and healthy environment. "It is important to stick to it to ensure safety for all," it added.
Compliance with the precautionary measures taken by the State to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country is a national and moral obligation towards yourself and others, the MoI added.
