HEC Paris, ranked number 3 worldwide in Executive Education by the Financial Times in 2019, will hold a public masterclass at its Doha campus in Tornado Tower to examine the best digitalisation practices from the banking profession and their wider industrial cross-sector applications.
The masterclass, titled ‘Digitalisation: best practices from banking and their application to other industries’, will be held on September 11 from 5pm-7pm.
Led by HEC Paris Adjunct Professor Roger Hallowell, the masterclass will identify best digitalisation practices from banking, which has been at the forefront of technology transformation. “Banking has been subjected to digitalisation to a high degree due to the ease with which monetary transactions can be moved online,” Professor Hallowell said in a press statement. “While most banks seem to be holding their breath and hoping the disruption will be minimal, a few have moved to the front of the pack and developed best practices.”
“The issue is whether other sectors can learn from the banking experience and gain a stronger foothold in their own digital transformation journeys,” he added.
Professor Hallowell is the academic director of programmes for managers and executives in the fields of strategy and business policy, as well as leadership, and teaches regularly in the HEC Paris International Executive MBA and the HEC Paris in Qatar Specialised Master’s Degree.
The HEC Executive MBA (EMBA) is a part-time programme that provides executives with a set of fundamental skills to expand their knowledge and leadership capabilities.
The Specialised Master’s Degree is designed for professionals and entrepreneurs looking at enhancing their leadership and management skills or looking at managing their own business in the future.
