Prolific forward Baghdad Bounedjah joined the Al Sadd squad at their training camp in Olot, Spain, yesterday ahead of the 2019-20 season. Bounedjah returned following his participation in Algeria’s triumphant African Cup of Nations campaign. Bounedjah scored the lone goal in the final as Algeria defeated Senegal to lift the title in Cairo.
On Wednesday, Al Sadd lost their second friendly of the pre-season camp against Olot 1-2. The Wolves took the lead in the 31st minute through Hashim Ali, before Olot replied with two goals in the 48th and 55th minute. Al Sadd got a number of opportunities to score in the second half but they weren’t able to make use of them. 
Al Sadd began the game with the following line-up: Saad al-Dosari, Tarek Salman, Jung Woo-young, Hamed Ismail, Abdelkarim Hassan, Gabi, Nam Tae-Hee, Hassan al-Haydos, Akram Afif, Abdulaziz al-Ansari, Hashim Ali. 
In the second half, head coach Xavi brought on Jehad Mohamed, Bahaa al-Lethy, Hussain Bahzad, Yasir Abubakar, Ahmed Sayyar, Khaled al-Yazidi, Hamza al-Sanhaji and Ali Asad. This was the second friendly of Al Sadd’s pre-season, after a 1-1 draw with Palamos in the first game.
