A team of students from Qatar will participate in the 51st International Chemistry Olympiad 2019 in Paris, France. The competition is on until July 30.
This is the first time students from Qatar are participating in this international scientific competition, which consists of two theoretical and practical examinations in chemistry.
Fatima al-Rashid, head of the science curriculum team at the department of educational guidance at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, said in a press statement that the International Chemistry Olympiad is an annual competition for students who are tested on their knowledge about chemistry.
The competition is intended to stimulate student interest in chemistry through independent and creative solving of chemical problems. It also aims to promote, friendships between young scientists of different nationalities.
