The offer is valid on all Xiaomi handsets purchased with a Vodafone promotional sticker until June 30 for new and existing Vodafone prepaid users, according to a press statement issued by Intertec Group, the sole authorised distributor of Xiaomai Mobiles in Qatar.
The 6.5GB free data will be offered in a staggered manner, with 500MB activated immediately upon the customer’s first use. The remaining 6GB will be given to the customer over the following six months when recharging with QR50 or above.
The partnership was announced at an event held at the Mi Store in Al Nasr Street in the presence of senior executives from Vodafone Qatar and Intertec Group.
“Having recently announced that Vodafone Qatar will be the first in the region to launch the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G, we’re delighted to extend our partnership with Xiaomi and Intertec Group. The ‘Grand Ramadan Offer’ is a great value promotion that I’m sure our mutual customers will highly enjoy,” said Shavkat Berdiev, chief business unit director, Vodafone Qatar.
Asraf N K, divisional manager at Intertec, added: “As a mobile phone distributor in the country, Intertec is an innovator and leader in the market. This co-operation with Vodafone Qatar is a great opportunity for Intertec to provide the exciting offer of Vodafone data package to our customers across all sectors in the country.”
Xiaomi is a fast-growing smartphone brand in Qatar. According to renowned research firm IDC, Xiaomi accounts for 19% of the Qatari smartphone market as of the fourth quarter of 2018, the statement notes, adding that its association with Vodafone Qatar “is poised to strengthen the brand’s presence in the country”.
