Qatar Chamber has sent a trade delegation to Ethiopia and Kenya to promote Qatar’s economy and to open new channels of cooperation for Qatar businessmen to invest in the African continent and to find a new destination for Qatari products and other exports. 
In a statement Saturday, Qatar Chamber said the delegation included board members Mohamed bin Mahdy al-Ahbabi and Dr Mohamed bin Gohar al-Mohamed.
On the sidelines of the tour, the Qatari delegation held meetings with top officials of both countries’ chambers federation of commerce and industry. They also met with Ethiopian and Kenyan businessmen to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation relations in trade and investment. 
Al-Mohamed said the visit also reviewed the possibility of holding two permanent expos for Qatari industries and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He said this represents a new initiative of Qatar Chamber to promote local products in Africa, “which is a very important and huge market.”
He noted that the Ethiopian and Kenyan chambers have welcomed the initiative, and affirmed that it would help inform business communities of both countries on Qatari industries and facilitate the import of Qatari products to these countries.
Ambassador of Qatar to Kenya Jabor bin Ali a- Dosari hosted a gala dinner in honour of the Qatari delegation at the embassy’s headquarters, in the presence of the Special Adviser of the President Bureau for Asian Affairs professor Mohamed Hussain Abdeely and a number of Kenyan officials and businesspersons.
