A series of cultural and entertainment shows marked the Qatar National Day (QND) 2017 Associated Activities at the Al Rayyan Sports Club on Monday, attracting a large number of Filipino expatriates who took part in the historical event.

The opening salvo featured a 2km fun run, dubbed as “Takbo Handog sa Qatar (Run for Qatar) at the oval track,” which was participated by a large number of Filipino expatriates in the country.
The sports activity was organised by the United Filipino Organisations in Qatar (UFOQ), in collaboration with the Filipino International Triathletes Club Qatar Chapter (FITQ) and supported by various organisations under UFOQ.
“This activity is aimed at uniting Filipino expatriates in the country to show our gratitude to Qatar, which we all consider our second home,” United Filipino Organisations in Qatar chairman Henry Dimaano said in a statement.
“We want to make a memorable and significant contribution to the nationwide celebration through this fun run wherein different Filipino community groups are represented,” he stressed, as he thanked all those who took part and volunteered to make the event a success.
The runners have been divided into three batches: Group A (fast runners), Group B (intermediate), and GC (fun run pace/speed). First three finishers from the male category, female category and children below 13 years old received some awards from the organisers.
