Qatar participates in the 74th annual congress of the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), which is organised by Expo Floriade 2022 in the Dutch city of Almere from Sept 27-30. Secretary-General of Expo 2023-Doha, head of the Qatari delegation to the conference, Mohamed Ali al-Khoury announced the start of the countdown to hosting the most important international horticultural exhibition, which is one year away.
He affirmed the readiness of Qatar to host this distinguished event, after it had made great progress in developing and planting the expo site in Al-Bida Park, and 30 countries had confirmed their participation in the exhibition so far, expecting that the number of participating countries would reach 80.
Al-Khoury expressed his aspiration for the Doha Expo to be a catalyst for change, and to be a platform for dialogue and discussion of the most prominent issues of horticulture, sustainability and the environment and a platform for exchanging knowledge about innovation and technology to facilitate the international shift towards green cities.
Expo 2023 Doha is a unique opportunity to discuss horticultural solutions on a local and global level for the first time in the Middle East.
It is also an opportunity for cultural exchange between the participating countries. As part of the ongoing preparations and work to attract more visitors, the Expo 2023 Doha team will carry out a series of marketing activities to spread awareness about the event to the general public.
