The summer educational programme held by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf), in co-operation with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, is witnessing a great turnout of students from across the country.
The programme is being hosted by Awqaf’s Department of Preaching and Religious Guidance.






According to an official press statement from Awqaf, the programme is being attended by 700-1,000 participants, who are given guidance in moral uplift. Yousef Hassan al-Hammadi, head of the religious guidance department, explained that the programme is a qualitative educational initiative that targets students and youth in sports clubs and youth centres, members of the centres for memorising the Holy Qur’an and the general public. He said the programme is held with the aim of instilling Islamic values and investing the time of the children during the summer vacation in useful activities while directing them behaviourally and morally. Besides, according to al-Hammadi, the programme includes physical and sports activities.
The programme began on July 17 and will conclude on August 18. The summer programme is being hosted at Al Gharafa Sports Club and Al Arabi Sports Club along with educational institutions and youth centres across Qatar.
