King Abdullah II of Jordan asserted yesterday that the only way to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the two-state solution which ensures the establishment of an independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also asserted, during his meeting with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Amman, his country’s firm position toward the Palestinian cause, including its support to the Palestinian people until the Palestinians regain their just and legitimate rights.
He stressed on the importance of preserving the existing historical and legal situation in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, noting that Jordan will steadfastly continue to exert its strenuous efforts to safeguard and protect the Islamic sacred places in Jerusalem. 
For his part, the Palestinian president praised Jordan’s steadfast attitude and efforts in supporting the Palestinians rights and their just cause.
