Birla Public School (BPS) in its maiden attempt to institute the prefectorial board for the middle school recently conducted the investiture ceremony. The ceremony inducted the incumbent leaders into the board after formally swearing in on a virtual platform.
The middle school prefectorial board led by Head Boy Muhammed Rayan Savad and Head Girl Afreen Macksood consists of 18 office-bearers from Grade VIII and students’ council members and monitors from every class.
Principal A P Sharma urged the elected candidates to instill the attitude of gratitude in life. He administered the oath to the office-bearers. “The newly sworn-in members of the prefectorial board are always expected to be accountable, responsible and inspirations to their fellow students”, said Gope Shahani, chairman of the school.
‘Our students stand here on the bank of a new chapter in their life where they need to showcase their leadership skills and abilities”, said Divya Mary Vincent in her welcome address. The show was further enhanced by students’ music and dance performances.
Vijayam Kartha, chief guest of the function, recounted her experience of a magic potion called 'the ask principle'. She enunciated the importance of attitude, skill, and knowledge in one’s life and exhorted the students to fortify themselves with positive relationships to remain happy in life. All the designated leaders were earlier honoured by their parents by pinning the medals and sashes.
The sworn-in head-boy and head-girl made their maiden address at the function. Vice head boy and vice head girl Rishab Murthy and Pooja Santhosh respectively delivered vote of thanks.
