Students will start attending school in the 2021/2022 academic year from August 29, according to a draft decision of HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education, approved by the Cabinet Wednesday. This came at the Cabinet's regular meeting Wednesday, chaired by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani via videoconference, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi issued a statement giving details of the proceedings. The Cabinet approved HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education's draft decision amending some provisions of Resolution No 13 of 2020 regarding the annual calendar of schools for the 2020/2021 academic year.
Under its provisions, the dates of the second round examinations for all grades (1st to 12th - day and adult education) in the 2020/2021 academic year will be from August 18 until 26. Employees' attendance in schools for the 2021-2022 academic year will start from August 16. Students will start school in the 2021-2022 academic year from August 29, according to the QNA report.
The Cabinet also gave its approval to a draft law to issue a law on mediation in settling civil and commercial disputes, and referred it to the Shura Council.
Further, it approved renewing the term for appointing two judges of the Qatar International Court to the Qatar Financial Centre.
The meeting also gave its nod to the second executive programme's draft agreement for educational and cultural co-operation between the governments of Qatar and China for certain academic years.
