International Mother Language Day was celebrated at the Loyola International School in a blended fashion to help students enhance their awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism. Students across all grades participated. While some children participated in online activities, the others joined the celebrations on campus, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Dressed up in their resplendent traditional clothes, the tiny tots of the kindergarten and the energetic learners of the primary sections spoke eloquently in their mother tongue. Students of the middle school wrote essays, recited poems and sang songs in different languages. They were guided and encouraged by their language teachers. There were posters, charts and collages creatively displayed across the school campus.
Loyola has a diverse student population that hails from several nations thus offering many opportunities for students to witness and respect the rich cultural and linguistic diversity that exists in every classroom. Principal P K V Prasad and vice principal Mou Bera congratulated the students for their outstanding work and also commended the teachers for helping the students appreciate the beauty of linguistic diversity.
