Emomali Rahmon wins Presidential Elections in Tajikistan for fifth time

 Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has won Sunday's presidential election, the Central Election Commission of Tajikistan announced.

The chairman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda said that Rahmon received support from 90.92% of the total number of voters in the elections said.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, who has ruled the country since 1992, is re-elected for the fifth time.

According to preliminary data, 4.2 million people took part in the elections, the turnout was 85.3%.

Presidential election began in Tajikistan earlier on Sunday as 3,375 polling stations opened all over the country.
