PM, French counterpart review ties

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani held on Saturday a telephone conversation with French prime minister Jean Castex, during which he congratulated his French counterpart on his appointment as prime minister wishing him success and the relations between the two countries further progress.

During the call, they reviewed the bilateral relations and ways of enhancing and developing them in all fields, especially economic and investment. In addition, they discussed several regional and international issues of common concern, especially the developments of the situation in Libya and ways of resolving it through political dialogue and diplomatic methods, where HE the Prime Minister affirmed the stable and supportive position of Qatar to the brotherly Libyan people and the internationally recognised legitimate government, and the concern for the unity and stability of Libya.

Also, they discussed security cooperation between the two countries regarding the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Qatari-French cultural year, the Green Initiative Fund, and the latest developments of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and ways for strengthening cooperation in this regard.-QNA
