The movement of marine vessels such as excursion cruisers and all types of marine tourist vessels is prohibited, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has said.
In an advisory yesterday, the MoI also stressed that seagoers should not gather, whether at sea or on islands and beaches.
The Ministry of Interior yesterday announced regulations pertaining to the movement of marine vessels in view of the precautionary measures taken to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Qatar.
The ministry issued an infographic on social media yesterday in this regard.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the vessels “permitted to move” are as follows:
* Marine vessels licensed for fishing purposes, provided that everyone on board has a ‘fishing card’.
*  Marine vessels of government agencies.
* Marine vessels designated for the transportation of staff and marine services.
*  Yachts; however, the specified contact number has to be called before the start of a trip to provide details of its route.
*  Watercraft (scooters, jet skis): only one person is allowed on board.
The vessels whose movement is prohibited are excursion cruisers and all types of marine tourist vessels.


Qatar attends 
WHO panel 
discussions 
on Covid-19
Qatar has participated in the general panel discussions held by the World Health Organisation (WHO)  on the developments of the coronavirus (Covid-19) through remote communication technology.
Qatar was represented at the panel discussion by HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari.
The panel discussions reviewed the countries’ plans and the precautionary and preventive measures against the corona virus (Covid-19)  in addition to the repercussions of the virus outbreak around the world, and the experiences of a number of countries in this regard.
HE the Minister of Public Health emphasised that the State of Qatar is taking the necessary measures  to control the spread of the virus and protect the community.
The Minister commended the important role played by the World Health Organisation at the global level in the fight against coronavirus (Covid 19).
