Venezuela’s Minister of Tourism & Foreign Trade, Felix Ramon Gonzalez, has stressed his country’s interest in exploring the potential of the Qatari market and the investment opportunities available here.
Gonzalez made the statement during a meeting with Qatar Chamber officials, who welcomed a Venezuelan trade delegation accompanied by Venezuela’s ambassador to Qatar, Giuseppe Angelo Yoffreda Yorio.
The meeting reviewed co-operation relations between the Qatari private sector and its Venezuelan counterpart, and identifying investment opportunities available in both sides.
During the meeting, Gonzalez called on Qatari businessmen to invest in his country’s tourism, agriculture, and energy sectors, among others. He said Venezuela is full of investment opportunities and obtains huge potentials and raw materials, making it the second natural gas producer in South America.
Qatar Chamber first vice chairman Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari said the private sectors in Qatar and Venezuela are connected by strong relation at all fields, noting that the trade exchange is still below expectations.
He stressed the importance of intensifying co-operation between both countries’ business sectors, saying that Qatari businessmen are eager to identify the investment opportunities available in Venezuela and to build trade and economic alliances with Venezuelan companies to boost trade.
Al-Kuwari also stressed Qatar Chamber’s support for businessmen from both sides to forge joint ventures and partnerships at all economic sectors. Both sides agreed to activate the MoU signed between Qatar and Venezuelan chambers in 2015 to further strengthen co-operation between the private sectors and exchange information and mutual visits.
