Strong winds are again expected in some places during the daytime, the Qatar Met department has said in its forecast for today.
Offshore areas, too, are likely to see windy conditions and high seas.
The Met department had recently said northwesterly fresh to strong winds (locally known as AlBawarih) were expected to continue affecting the country until July 18, ranging in speed from 10-22 knots and reaching a high of 33 knots at times, especially at noon, in some areas.
This, in turn, would result in blowing dust and low visibility – particularly in open areas.
Marine warnings, too, remained in effect with the wave height expected to range from 4’ to 7’ in most offshore areas, reaching 9’ towards the northeast.
Today’s forecast says the wind speed will be 12-24 knots inshore, going up to 30 knots in some places before dropping to 6-12 knots by the evening.
Offshore, the wind speed will be 12-22 knots and reach a high of 28 knots in the northern areas, where the sea level may rise to 9’.
It will be hot during the day and slight to blowing dust is expected in some inshore areas at times.
Slight dust and some clouds are likely offshore.
The maximum temperature is expected to be 44C today in Doha, Wakrah and Mesaieed, and 41C in Al Khor.
