The 24th edition of the Gulf Cup will be held from November 27 to December 9 in Qatar. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) yesterday.
The meeting was chaired by the President of Qatar Football Association (QFA) and AGCFF Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani. Members of the Executive Committee Dr Ibrahim al-Ansari, the new representative of the Kuwait Football Federation, Dr Jassem al-Shakieli (Oman), Tarek Ahmed (Iraq), Dr Hameed al-Sheibani (Yemen) and Dr Ibrahim al-Ansari (Kuwait) attended the meeting in addition to Jassim al-Rumaihi General Secretary and Ahmed al-Nuaimi Assistant General Secretary.
A number of important topics was discussed in the meeting, including the suitable dates for the Gulf Cup. The amendments submitted by the Regulations Committee were also discussed and approved with further study to be approved in the near future.
The meeting discussed the nominations of the members of the judicial committees, which includes discipline and appeal in preparation for submission to the General Assembly for adoption. The last Gulf Cup was held in Kuwait where Oman won the title.
Qatar hosted the prestigious event in 1976, 1992 and 2004 and emerged champions on three occasions. In the 1992 Gulf Cup, the 11th edition of the tournament, saw hosts Qatar winning the tournament for the first time. They won as hosts in 2004. 
Kuwait hold the most number of titles in the regional event, having won the championship 10 times.
