The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Municipality of Al Sheehaniya, launched a campaign Tuesday to remove all illegal structures in the farms located within the municipality as part of the ministry's comprehensive plan to put an end to violations by all state farms, in accordance with the provisions of the Public and Private State Property Law and Building Regulation Law.

This campaign, which is being carried out in co-operation with the General Cleanliness Department, the Department of Mechanical Equipment of the Ministry and the security authorities in the State, continues until all violations are removed before the end of 2019.
Director of the Al Sheehaniya Municipality, Jaber Hassan al-Jaber said that the campaign aims at removing all illegal structures in the farms, such as buildings for workers' housing, stores, garages, etc., that are used by farmers for non-agricultural purposes and are in violation of the certificate of possession granted to the owner of the farm.
He pointed out that the municipality has taken the necessary legal measures against these violations since the beginning of 2019 in co-ordination with the authorities concerned in the country. He added that the notices of removal were given to the owners of farms, companies, workshops and stores.
The MME also explained that the measures taken against the infringing farms include making a record of the offence and issuing warning to the violators to remove the illegal structure and evacuate housing units, as well as removal by force in the case the eviction notice is not complied with.
The ministry called on the owners of the farms to abide by the laws governing the activity and work of the farms, emphasising the importance of using them for agricultural activity, especially in response to the requirements of food security. It urged all companies to vacate their violating sites and facilities to avoid legal action.
