Celebrated poet and scholar of medieval India Amir Khusro (1253–1325) was perhaps the first to write about the triangular shaped savoury goodness of samosa in South Asia. Around 1300, the royal poet of the Delhi Sultanate wrote that the princes and nobles enjoyed the “samosa prepared from meat, ghee, onion and so on”. But many historians say that this popular food item was introduced to South Asia by the Middle Eastern chefs, who had themselves received the recipe from Central Asia centuries ago.
Even in the old days, people would cook the mince or vegetables filled triangles over campfire and eat them as snacks during travel.
Samosa without a doubt is one of the most popular snacks all over the world. Its biggest secret to popularity has remained the various varieties of fillings that cater to different tastes across the globe.
For the sake of this review, we are only looking into the South Asian variety of samosa and here are our top picks of resturants where you can grab this snack in Qatar.
