The goal-glut in the Qatar Stars League continued yesterday as Nam tae-Hee struck a hat-trick to help former champions Lekhwiya edge Al Gharafa 5-4 in a thrilling match at Al Gharafa stadium.
In the second game of the night, Lekhwiya kicked off proceedings with two quick goals to put Gharafa on the back foot.
Ali Hassan Afif found the net in the 12th minute followed by an easy tap-goal by Tae hee in the 17th minute. The South Korean international picked up an easy rebound and flicked the ball into the net for his season’s first strike.
Al Gharafa scored their first goal in the 24th minute when Vladimir Weiss converted a penalty kick. Qatari international defender Mohamed Moosa brought down Weiss in the box and the Slovakian international later didn’t miss from the penalty spot.
Five minutes from the end of the first half, Lekhwiya added to Al Gharafa’s woes when Youssef al-Arabi converted an easy penalty. Three minutes later, Mohamed Abdulla deflected a corner kick to score Al Gharafa’s second goal. Abdullah’s header went through Lekhwiya goalkeeper Amine Lecomte’s hands as Gharafa reduced the deficit for the second time in the first half.
Lekhiwya went into the break leading 3-2.
Tae-hee scored his second and Lekhwiya’s fourth goal in the 48th minute when he produced a swinging free-kick that hit the goalpost and landed inside the Al Gharafa net.
Gharafa found their way back into the tie courtesy of Johnson Kendrik Costa who scored their third goal in the the 73rd minute. With four minutes left to play South Korean midfielder Kooky Han produced Al Gharafa’s fourth goal in the 86th minute, flicking one home from the edge of the Lekhwiya box, in what seemed to be a vital equaliser for his side.
Lekhwiya, however, scored the winner in injury time with Nam Tae Hee capping off a fine individual performance by completing his hat-trick by firing home a fine free-kick, giving Djamel Belmadi’s side two wins from two QSL games.  
Earlier, Al Kharaitiyat registered their first win of the season beating  home side Al Wakrah 2-1. The Thunders grabbed their goals in the second half through Jaralla Ali al-Marri (48) and Jeremy Bokila (56).  Al Wakrah scored a late consolation through summer signing Pablo Zeballos in the 83rd minute.
 Visitors Al Kharaitiyat took the lead in the 48th minute when al-Marri fired from close range following an inch perfect cross from the right flank. Twelve minutes later Amir Osim’s side celebrated their second goal this time after a neat finish by summer signing Jeremy Bokila. The DR Congo international calmly slipped the ball past Wakrah keeper Hassan, to give his side an invaluable lead.
 With seven minutes left to play, Wakrah striker Zeballos reduced the deficit for Al Wakrah by tapping the ball into the net from close range. Al Wakrah picked up pace in the dying minutes of the second-round clash but Al Kharaitiyat held on to their slender lead to pick up vital points.
